A Letter from our President

My name is Bethany Aggelakos, and I am the Chapter President of the lota Theta
Chapter of Alpha Phi at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am honoured and grateful to serve an organization of empowered women who inspire me every single day.

Founded in 1872 at the Alpha Chapter of Syracuse University, Alpha Phi has developed over 170 collegiate chapters, making Alpha Phi one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities globally. Alpha Phi is proud to have a network of over 250,000 members across North America who are bonded by our values of sisterhood, character development, generosity and innovation. We offer a rich history, full of deep-rooted tradition, everlasting bonds, and an incomparable experience.

In the first semester of my first year I rushed for Alpha Phi. Seeking a home away from home and finding a sense of community in a time of so much change, I truly didnt realize the impact Alpha Phi would have on my life. Through Alpha Phi I have found mentors, long lasting connections and friendships that continue to grow and shape who I am. Being a part of a sistehood has given me so many oppirtunites and skills not only enhancing my university experience but also giving me real-world knowledge to enhance my future.

As president of the lota Theta chapter, I've learned to lead with confidence, navigate challenges with grace and inspire others to reach their full potential. Having a constant support system and being surrounded by like minded individuals has helped me strive for excellence on a daily basis. Through philanthropy events supporting women's heart health, academic mentorship, and leadership training, Alpha Phi helps women grow into well-rounded, driven individuals who contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Alpha Phi has pushed me in every aspects of my life and it is and will always be one of best decision Ive made. I am very grateful and proud to be a part of a group of strong, kind, passionate and hardworking women who continue to inspire and uplift me every day. I found a sense of community and beloniging at Alpha Phi and I hope others are able to do the same.
