One of our founders’ highest ideals was the value of scholarship, and it remains an important value to the Alpha Phis at Wilfrid Laurier University. Alpha Phi provides its members with many scholarship opportunities, both need- and merit-based (see below). Additionally, we have a Director of Academics who is dedicated to providing access to campus resources and academic programming.

Our chapter is made up of an academically diverse group of women, studying anything from music therapy to financial mathematics. Alpha Phi provides an ideal academic support system through peer mentoring from upper-year sisters, daily study sessions offered throughout the full school year, and other extrinsic motivators such as awards, to motivate our members to perform to their optimal academic level.

We understand that it can be difficult to balance academics with a healthy social life, especially in the first year of university. Alpha Phi recognizes that sisters are students first, therefore to maintain membership each member must be in good academic standing within their faculty. For this reason, we like to believe that Alpha Phi aids your education rather than hinders it.

​

The Iota Theta chapter prides itself on celebrating members' success, which we do at our weekly meetings and through our social media. We also provide stress-relief activities during busy periods for the sisters who need a quick study break and a healthy meal before hitting the books again.
